Eldis Regent Hotel in Daegu is well positioned in terms of accessibility and value, but requires spatial upgrades to establish itself as a premium urban hotel. The lounge, as a key public space, has been redesigned to strengthen the hotel’s refined identity.
The design focuses on a sensory experience shaped by light, nature, and scent. Light creates a subtle, luxurious atmosphere, while natural elements introduce vitality and emotional comfort. Scent enhances memory and deepens the overall guest experience.
Inspired by a cave, the deepest lounge area emphasizes intimacy and immersion. Planting, linear lighting, and mirrored ceilings guide movement and expand spatial perception. As guests move toward the lobby, natural and artificial light gradually blend, creating a layered journey of illumination.
Materiality plays a key role, with careful attention to texture, durability, and light interaction. Terracotta tones combined with green glass blocks establish a distinctive first impression, while organic curves enhance fluidity and spatial continuity.
Overall, the lounge delivers a refined, immersive environment that elevates the hotel’s identity as a premium destination.
