BREADLIST

Located in Bong-san Cultural Street, Daegu, BREADLIST is a café centered around Trdelník, a traditional pastry from Prague. The design preserves the building’s original red brick structure, using it as a key architectural element to establish a strong and authentic spatial identity. The curved corner façade and exposed brick naturally blend into the streetscape while creating an unmistakably exotic presence throughout the day and night.

Inside, intentionally irregular wooden flooring introduces a raw yet grounded atmosphere. This handcrafted, almost unrefined expression resonates with the artisanal nature of Trdelník, bringing warmth and character to the space. In contrast, a stainless-steel counter and exposed rolling machines are positioned as focal points, allowing the production process itself to become part of the visual experience.

The contrast between cool metal, warm wood, and aged brick defines the core identity of BREADLIST. By minimizing decorative elements and emphasizing material textures and traces of use, the project aims to create a café that feels timeless—one that quietly endures beyond trends while leaving a lasting impression.
